Content Performance provides new Google Analytics insights into WordPress content for optimization
The WordPress digital experiences platform, WP Engine launched a new addition to its Performance Intelligence Suite, called Content Performance that is built on top of Google Analytics to provide customizable and actionable insights into WordPress content.
Designed for marketers and content publishers, Content Performance integrates WordPress-optimized Google Analytics data directly into the WordPress admin dashboard that automatically sync with the structure and taxonomy of the WordPress site.
The solution measures categories, authors, posts, and tags against nine Google Analytics metrics, including unique visitors, time on site, new users and bounce rate. It offers visual reporting based on the classification of the customer’s WordPress site.
Jason Cohen, Founder & CTO, WP Engine, believes that since WordPress powers 28 % of the web, analytics should include WordPress specific insights for marketers and publishers to understand how their content is performing and impacting business. “Content Performance fills this void by offering simple and accessible performance analytics customized to improve digital experiences for WordPress,” says Cohen.
New Google Analytics Insights to Strengthen Content Strategy
Content Performance provides accurate insights from Google Analytics data that automatically maps to the classification of WordPress. Marketers and Publishers can access performance data at author and category levels, without having to analyze large amounts of data.
The solution helps to improve site structure by guiding how to use tags and categories to effectively track readership. It enables users to understand which posts are driving the most engagement and traffic.
Maintains Content Production Workflow
Performance reports are accessible directly within the WordPress admin dashboard, enabling customers to quickly see WordPress-optimized data. It eliminates the need to build self-customized reports from Google Analytics. Despite making site changes, the daily data updates automatically stay in sync with the structure of WordPress. Users can either access up to a year of posts performance reports or export CSV for the top 100, whichever is higher.

In addition, Content Performance helps to increase reach and conversions by attracting new site visitors with preferred content. Post gaining visibility into unique visitors and impressions, users can deliver the data-driven content recommendations to clients and prioritize projects by identifying opportunity areas.

Content Performance will be available for business, premium and enterprise-level plan customers in June 2017.
