Vonage Joins Google Early Access Program to Bring RCS Capabilities on Its API Platform

Vonage, the leading provider of cloud communications for business, announced that it has partnered Google to provide users with enhanced B2B messaging experiences on mobile. As the MarTech industry braces up for the 2017 Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, the latest announcement brings cutting-edge API capabilities to users through Nexmo.

Nexmo, which is Vonage API platform, is an SMS upgrade that enables businesses to deliver improved business messaging to Android devices. The API platform leverages Rich Communication Services (RCS) helping businesses to engage seamlessly with their customers for deeper relationships and better business outcomes.

Vonage, by joining Google’s RCS Early Access Program, will offer its business customers, who largely rely on messaging in their daily operations, unhindered access to all the new features that RCS messaging offers, including group chat, high-res photosharing, read receipts, and more. The enhanced messaging capabilities delivered via the Nexmo Chat App API will provide multi-channel access through one simple-to-connect API.

Google is the torch-bearer in the MarTech for mobile, promoting Rich Communications Services standards to replace SMS experience. By adding RCS, businesses can bring cutting-edge features on SMS platforms, albeit with many expressive capabilities that go beyond the world of conventional messaging.
