Bizzy’s Acqusition Brings Email Personalization with Automation on SendGrid’s Marketing Campaigns

SendGrid, the leading cloud-based customer communications platform, announced that it has acquired email automation startup company – Bizzy, realigning its strategy to focus on ‘Marketing Campaigns’ product roadmap. The terms of the deal remain undisclosed. However, as part of the acquisition, the co-founders of Bizzy, Jennifer Kessler and Chiara McPhee have joined the SendGrid’s product management team as Directors.

The Boulder-based martech unicorn delivers over 25 million emails per month for clients like Airbnb, Pandora, Spotify, Uber, and FourSquare. The latest acquisition of Bizzy will help the company expands its marketing reach into the internet and mobile customers, helping clients sell more to their direct customers by sending specific, tailor-made messages based on their buying behavior.

By acquiring Bizzy, the customer communication platform will be able to offer innovative capabilities for email marketing, which recently added ‘Marketing Campaigns’. The new solution has delivered 9 billion emails and 19 million email campaigns since launch last year.

According to a recent report by Litmus, Big Data personalization in emails, automation, and omnichannel email experiences will be among top trends for 2017. With Bizzy, Marketing Campaigns will break the ceiling in delivering all these through a centralized, revamped email marketing platform.

In order to expand into email marketing, SendGrid looked at a dozen companies and chose Bizzy as a clear fit. Bizzy, founded in 2014, offers transactional email marketing solutions for E-commerce businesses. Now a part of SendGrid, the company will focus on creating omnichannel conversation platform that helps marketers optimize emails and ad campaigns through powerful behavioral segmentation.

As CMOs look to invest judiciously into video marketing platforms that seamlessly integrate with email automation, the latest merger of Bizzy into SendGrid will help email marketers take their marketing campaigns to a new level.
