Meeting Demand to Address GDPR Compliance, TrustArc Offers Interactive Training and Access to Industry Experts and Case Studies in 25+ Cities Worldwide
TrustArc, the data privacy management company, announced its new GDPR Privacy Workshop series, scheduled to take place in 25+ major cities in the United States, Europe and Asia. To help companies meet the May 25, 2018 deadline to comply with the European Union’s (EU) General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), TrustArc is offering complimentary workshops that feature informative discussions, case studies and practical solutions to achieve GDPR compliance. The first workshop will take place September 26 in Boston, Massachusetts, and Orange County, California.
With less than a year to comply with the GDPR, the most sweeping change to data protection in the past 20 years, companies all over the world are determining how to best adjust their internal systems and processes so they can demonstrate compliance. In a survey by Dimensional Research among 200 U.S. privacy professionals in May 2017, a majority of respondents (61%) hadn’t yet begun implementing their GDPR readiness strategy. When asked what support they required to become compliant, results highlighted several key areas including: 1) New policies and processes (69%); 2) Privacy expertise to understand regulations (63%); and 3) Technology and tools to automate and operationalize data privacy (48%).
The TrustArc GDPR Privacy Workshop series seeks to address these perceived challenges by offering insight and training on topics including compliance requirements and reporting, data mapping, and risk assessments. Three hours long, the complimentary workshops will include:
- Hands-on interactive review and tips on core GDPR compliance requirements:
- Data Mapping
- Building Records of Processing (Article 30 Reports)
- Ongoing Risk Assessments & Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs)
- HR Data Considerations
- GDPR Tool Demonstrations
- Access to industry experts who have implemented GDPR solutions across a wide range of industries, and materials including:
- Methodology Guidance & Best Practices
- Sample Templates
- Course Handouts
