How Agencies Need to Adopt Growth-Driven Actions to Assist their Clients and Propel their Growth

By Kobi Gamliel, Head of Agency Growth at Wix Studio

Agencies’ workflows, dedicated tools, and client relationships have evolved drastically from a decade ago and will continue to change. This is attributed to many factors particularly client expectations for a creative, unique, and scalable digital presence. These demands have increased to new heights and will only continue to rise. To match these expectations, agencies can embrace these changes and use products and tools to help them along the way.

Agencies need to learn how to be more adaptive and navigate the dynamic world of web development, creativity, and digital creations. To do this, an agency needs to embrace the usage of growth-driven products and methodologies to support its web creation process. Growth-driven action is a methodology focused on continuous improvement. Part of this is to collect real-time data to better inform about a website’s performance, potential client customers’ needs, and the client ecosystem. This ultimately helps the agency to decide where to invest time and resources. By investing in consuming and adopting growth-driven methodologies, agencies can match and even surpass the demands of their clients by delivering a new level of creativity and scalability with a strong and reliable foundation that leads to client success.

The first step is to observe and understand the current landscape to know what clients seek. Creating this foundation sets the stage for growth and provides a solid infrastructure to build upon.

Once the landscape is understood, here are some strategies that can help develop growth-driven agency workflows:

  • Data, data, data. Agencies need to remember that data-driven insights are a huge factor. Data is the backbone of modern marketing and growth. Insights from data show purpose and proof as to why a business should focus on something and help create resilient growth strategies. Data can play a big factor in how to move forward.
  • Be agile and adaptive. It’s important to scale solutions from the start. Once there’s a solid infrastructure, it can be built upon by adding more features one after another.  Starting small isn’t a bad thing, and then taking little steps and building upon a strategy that’s working can be quite successful as the solution becomes more intricate. It’s also important to look at what you’re not doing and build different muscles or stop doing something because it’s inefficient. Sometimes it’s important to step back and see what’s jiving and evaluate what’s positive or not and pivot as needed and, sometimes, it’s not data-driven but energy-driven.
  • Take an “always on” optimization processes approach. This builds on top of being agile. Lean into what’s working. Agencies should always keep the learning curve inside the business. This makes workflows driven by constant improvement and always optimizing. Most are afraid of making constant changes but it’s a key factor toward success.
  • Focus on cross-functional collaboration. It’s highly beneficial to leverage diverse skills and specialized knowledge of different teams to brainstorm better ideas, solve difficult problems, build more holistic solutions, and increase efficiencies.

A great example of being agile and adaptive with a growth-driven methodology is the adoption of AI as part of every action professionals take these days. AI has entered agency life – and it’s not going away. With AI becoming increasingly integrated into almost every industry, it’s not surprising AI is also now in the agency world. There are new AI-powered tools with prompts to make things faster and seamless and this is changing how people are marketing. Remember, even with AI-powered tools, the growth-driven strategy and methodology stay the same.

With growth, there always needs to be resiliency and flexibility because it’s not a linear path to success. Overall, the evolution of growth-driven methodologies has transformed from a focus on business owners using tools and action to make processes more efficient and successful, to a more open approach by agencies using growth-driven tools and tasks for their clients.  Agencies that understand this will be more agile and adaptive, more focused on specialized niche platforms and business types, and show more data-driven insights that shift for more performance actions and transform their client success into their own agency growth.
