Hootsuite’s Ifoma Smart and ActionIQ’s Cait Gorges join BlueConic

New hires reflect the customer data platform’s continued growth and commitment to further differentiating its approach to CX

BlueConic, the market-leading customer data platform that transforms the way business teams operate and use data to interact with customers and drive growth in the privacy-first era, announced two new leadership hires. Hootsuite’s Senior Director of Customer Value Ifoma Smart has joined as VP Global Customer Success and Cait Gorges, formerly Regional Vice President of Sales at ActionIQ, has joined as VP of Sales.

“I’m excited to take the reins and deliver on that experience as the business scales.”

Smart brings a broad range of experience from a variety of customer success disciplines to BlueConic – inclusive of different buyer and user personas, company sizes, and technology categories. Prior to Hootsuite, he served as a Customer Success Director at VMware, and held senior positions at Solace, TIBCO, Oracle, and BlackBerry. In his new role as VP Global Customer Success, Smart will work with customers at every phase of the customer lifecycle, from onboarding to renewal, and play an integral part in scaling customer-led initiatives to drive retention and growth.

Gorges has a rich background in media, martech, data, and analytics, including expansive knowledge of the CDP space. Prior to BlueConic, she built, scaled, and enabled sales teams at ActionIQ, Evergage – a Salesforce company, Mixpanel, and Quantcast. In her new role as VP of Sales at BlueConic, she will be responsible for all new business sales.

“To have practitioners of Ifoma’s and Cait’s caliber join our team is fantastic, not just for their incredible range and track record of accomplishments, but also because of their curiosity and passion – two critical BlueConic values,” said Cory Munchbach, CEO of BlueConic. “As an organization, we are deeply committed to ensuring the expertise, partnership, and empathy (E-P-E) we bring to all our interactions with customers and prospects is as much of a differentiator as our software. In a world where technology powers experience, the ability to harness both people and platform to drive performance is as true for us as it is for our customers. Both Ifoma and Cait embody these attributes in spades and are primed to take BlueConic to new heights in this regard.”

“BlueConic has set a high bar for its own customer experience. Delivering value at every stage of the lifecycle is what builds trust with customers, who in turn become advocates while leveraging their successes to advance their careers in their own organization,” said Smart. “I’m excited to take the reins and deliver on that experience as the business scales.”

Gorges adds: “I’m a firm believer that sales teams can and should look different – from their authentic interactions with customers to ensuring the sales process naturally connects to the post-sale process. BlueConic creates a collaborative atmosphere with a deep respect for always championing a customer-centric viewpoint – which governs everything they do. I’m thrilled to join the BlueCrew and continue to curate a sales team and approach that lives up to their strongly held values and beliefs.”
