Mastercard Extends Its Global Sponsorship of the UEFA Champions League

Mastercard Launches Strive: a Global Small Business Initiative to Accelerate Economic Recovery

Mastercard announced the renewal of the partnership with the UEFA Champions League for the 2021-24 cycle, continuing its long-running relationship which began in 1994. The agreement also includes sponsorship rights for the UEFA Super Cup in 2021, 2022 and 2023.

Mastercard wants to connect people to their passions. For more than 25 years, Mastercard has been a proud supporter of Europe’s premier club competition. Mastercard has been giving priceless experiences to fans across the globe and will continue to offer children the opportunity to become Player Mascots, both virtually or onto the pitch. Children have the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to walk onto the pitch alongside some of the game’s biggest stars before UEFA Champions League matches. In 2020, for the Semi-Final & the Final of the UEFA Champions League and for the UEFA Super Cup, Mastercard had to pivot to a digital activation: players and mascots could interact live via a screen at the entrance of the stadium as players arrive. This initiative was led by Mastercard in collaboration with the UEFA Foundation for Children which selected the kids for the different matches.
