Apogee Appoints Industry Veteran, Teresa de Onís, as New Vice President of Marketing

Former Marketing Executive at University of Texas at Austin, Dell Technologies, Joins to Advance Apogee’s Branding and Sales to Meet Company Goals

With the goal of advancing company branding and sales, Apogee, higher education’s largest managed technology services provider, has named Teresa de Onís – former senior marketing executive at University of Texas at Austin and Dell Technologies – as Apogee’s new Vice President of Marketing. Known as a marketing change leader who forges strong connections with customers, partners, and internal stakeholders, de Onis brings 25 years of expertise in integrated marketing, change management, communications, and sales enablement to her new position.

As Vice President of Marketing, de Onís will lead the company’s marketing strategy, and work closely with sales and business development teams in support of Apogee’s clients. She will drive the delivery of strong brand and product positioning and messaging, research and market segmentation, digital properties, events, classic and digital marketing, and sales enablement programs.

Most recently, de Onís consulted for a data management software company based in Austin, playing an integral role in returning the organization to profitability by repositioning the company and establishing a new brand identity, value proposition, and storyline. During her time there, she achieved a 9% share of voice in a crowded industry, 99% neutral-to-positive sentiment, and over 1B impressions per press release due to extensive media and analyst outreach.

Prior to her work as a consultant, de Onís was the Senior Director of Marketing at her alma mater, University of Texas at Austin, where she led the central marketing and creative services team in crafting a unified brand position and messages by audience. She crafted UT’s first brand book and launched the university’s first digital content marketing program. She also led marketing for Dell’s big data, analytics, and storage portfolio, and was brand manager at AMD for its flagship Athlon products.

De Onís dedicated the first decade of her career to growing the Latin America market for AMD and a few companies in the video conferencing industry, where she led sales and marketing for higher education distance learning. She holds a Master of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Arts in French and Political Science from the University of Texas at Austin.
