APQC Launches Process Excellence Certification With Certified Process Manager Course Debuting in October

Training encapsulates APQC’s best practice and benchmarking research with industry-leading process frameworks to deliver a robust, actionable certification course

APQC has launched its first-ever Process Excellence Certification. Built around decades of best practice and benchmarking research, the course features the application of APQC’s Process Analysis and Design Methodology across the Process Lifecycle, leveraging the power of APQC’s Seven Tenets of Process ManagementTM. Hands on and action oriented, APQC’s certification course delivers the specific knowledge, skills, and tools necessary to create, sustain, and evolve successful process management programs.

Attendees will earn the title APQC Certified Process Manager upon successful completion of the course. Training dates are October 25-27, December 6-8, and February 21-23 in Houston, Texas.

“APQC has conducted process management research since 2005 and training since 2008, and we are excited to draw upon these longstanding efforts to introduce a formal certification,” shares Lisa Higgins, president and chief executive officer for APQC. “With participants having access to proven practices and APQC’s approach to design, manage, and sustain high-performing processes as part of the training, our certification provides substantive learning that can be applied on the job immediately upon completion.”

Many certification programs tend to be theoretical, time intensive, and have little to no collaboration. In contrast, APQC’s certification is a compact, 3-day, immersive course filled with experiential, real-life exercises that process managers can apply directly in their workplace. As part of the course, participants will consider and apply the training based upon the current process management situation in their own organization.

Other key attributes of APQC’s course include:

  • Smaller class sizes to enable strong participant / instructor engagement. Learning is delivered in person through lecture, videos, and group activities.
  • More than 70% of the course conducted in an “active learning” style that sparks creativity, fosters problem solving, and increases retention.
  • 2.8 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) earned.
  • Perpetual certification that need not be renewed.

“APQC’s Process Analysis and Design Methodology applies the Seven Tenets of Process Management across the process lifecycle to align processes to the needs of the organization, manage performance, and drive improvement. This comprehensive approach forms the very foundation of our structured certification curriculum,” adds Higgins. “As such we believe APQC’s Certified Process Manager Course will be one of the most empowering and transformative learning experiences available for process professionals.”

An IACET provider, APQC will deliver its process excellence certification course in person on a quarterly basis at APQC’s headquarters in Houston, Texas. The course is also able to be delivered on-site for organizations seeking to train many individuals.
