The Google Pay extension v1.1.1 for Magento now supports the Cybersource payment gateway allowing merchants who prefer Cybersource to easily integrate Google Pay into their checkout flow. Cybersource is a leading payment service provider (PSP) that serves retailers in 197 countries and processed almost $600B in payments in 2020.

Other key updates include support for Magento 2.4 as well as Magento 2.3. Easy to download and install without any coding, Google Pay for Magento provides fast, frictionless checkout and allows consumers to use already-stored payment credentials. According to Google, “Checkout with Google Pay is easy and fast, decreasing your customers’ time to buy, and increasing your conversions. There are no fees for merchants or customers to use Google Pay, and Google’s enhanced security and identity controls means Google Pay transactions are declined less frequently than card only transactions.”

According to a recent report by eMarketer, Google Pay is expected to add 10.2M new users by 2025 and mobile payments will be used by over 100M US consumers this year alone. In-store mobile payments grew by 29% in 2020 for US consumers 14 and older and over 50% of all US consumers will use mobile payments within the next 4 years.
