Smarsh Partners with DLT Solutions to Provide Federal Agencies With Solution for Text Message Records Retention and Oversight

Federal Archive enables agencies to easily capture, retain, search and produce employee text messages for records preservation, FOIA and litigation preparedness

Smarsh, helping customers get ahead – and stay ahead – of the risk within their electronic communications, announced a new partnership with DLT Solutions, a wholly owned subsidiary of Tech Data and the premier government technology solutions aggregator. DLT Solutions will distribute the Smarsh Federal Archive, a cloud-based mobile text message archiving solution, to the U.S. federal government.

“This technology meets U.S. government requirements and is readily available through several DLT contract vehicles.”

The Federal Archive is the only text message archiving solution to receive a Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP) authorization. The solution enables government agencies to automate the capture, retention, search and production of employee text messages in support of records preservation, Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests and litigation preparedness initiatives.

“Smarsh is excited to help government agencies embrace transparency and solve the recordkeeping, legal and public disclosure challenges that emerge with employee use of mobile devices,” said Brian Cramer, Smarsh CEO. “Partnering with DLT Solutions enables us to leverage its contract portfolio, sales and marketing services, market intelligence and powerful channel partner ecosystem. Federal agencies have a clear and trusted avenue through DLT to quickly strengthen their risk postures around mobile employee communications.”

The Federal Archive is designed to support federal IT managers, mobile device managers, CIOs, CISOs, legal teams and records officers. The solution captures employee text communications and accompanying metadata directly from leading mobile carriers AT&T and Verizon. Content is preserved in full threaded context, and users can perform both simple and complex searches and produce messages on-demand for secure export.
