Embracing the New “Abnormal” in B2B: LinkedIn Virtual Events Takes the Pole

With 90% of the global workforce operating from home, it’s time to embrace the new abnormal — the era of virtual conferencing and face-timing to keep on track every communication. In the latest addition to the list of video collaboration tools, LinkedIn has decided to muscle its way to the pole position with Virtual Events.

LinkedIn Virtual Events is built to support the LinkedIn Pages that are helping millions of LinkedIn users to stay connected, productive, and energetic.

Subscribers and B2B teams can leverage the LinkedIn Live and LinkedIn Events to drive their brand awareness campaigns with their audiences, for free. LinkedIn Live offers a unique video marketing platform to drive engagement with your professional audience, in addition to gathering more reactions and more comments.

LinkedIn Virtual Events is tighter integration between LinkedIn Events and LinkedIn Live. The new video platform is turning these two products into a new virtual events solution that enables every user to stay connected to B2B communities and meet customers in the virtual space, in a highly secured manner.

A Quick Overview of LinkedIn Virtual Events

  • Live streaming to your Page Followers, like IGTV
  • Direct integration with the third-party broadcasting platform, such as Restream, Wirecast, Streamyard and Socialive, to monetize video content opportunities
  • Live recommendations during video streaming to drive engagement to your sales enablement content and other resources
  • Events are the new data churning machine– the new benchmark of customer experience

The Virtual Events platform continues with its charm even when the streaming has stopped. As a host, you can keep the conversation going with the Video tab. Video tab is a dedicated spot for a Page’s organic video content that can be accessed by all members of your community*

Fact check:  LinkedIn Live is seeing 23X more comments per post and 6X reactions per post than native video, and is a great way to have real-time engagement with your followers and connections.

Taking a novel route to make this Live Video and Virtual Events mode more-readily adaptable, LinkedIn has added a “Volunteer” CTA to help NGOs and schools seek volunteering services from the Pages members and attendees. This button is active only for the NGOs and school administration.

(*We are yet to confirm from LinkedIn spokespersons if the space promotes recorded video links)
