EvoNexus, Southern California’s leading startup incubator with locations in San Diego and Irvine, has launched an application round in partnership with Viasat and Cubic.
Two of San Diego’s largest and most important publicly traded companies, Cubic and Viasat have joined EvoNexus in search of early stage companies for potential partnerships and admission into the corporate supported EvoNexus technology incubator. Startups that apply within the technical areas shown below will be considered for admission into EvoNexus and for partnership with Viasat or Cubic to include corporate R&D connections, early business unit exposure, technology steering, potential Beta customer trials, NRE and early stage funding.
Cubic is a market-leading, technology provider of integrated solutions that increase situational understanding for transportation, C4ISR and training customers worldwide. Vice Admiral David Buss (USN, Ret), SVP & Corporate Senior Advisor, and Melanie Hagerty, VP Corporate Engineering & Innovation, are the senior Cubic executives leading their team to evaluate applicants in this round. Vice Admiral Buss also serves on the EvoNexus board.
Cubic areas of interest include: Cyber Management, Algorithms/Simulation, Power Management, Instrumentation, Secure Communications, Cloud Computing and Data Visualization.
Viasat is a global leader in ultra-high performance satellite broadband technology and secure communications. Rick Baldridge, President & COO, and Kristi Jaska, Vice President Engineering, are the senior Viasat executives leading their team to evaluate applicants. Rick Baldridge also serves as Chairman of EvoNexus.
Viasat areas of interest include: Communications & Signal Processing, Computer Networking, Software Defined Networks/Network Function Virtualization/Cloud Computing, Big data/Analytics/Data Science, AI/Machine Learning, Cybersecurity, Media Services & Internet Browsing, Connected Environments (IoT, Smart Home), Internet on Mobile Platforms (Airline, Maritime, Connected Car) and Internet Service Worldwide (Policy, Culture, Technology).
Admitted startups will benefit from partnership opportunities with Cubic and Viasat in addition to all EvoNexus incubator benefits that include capital formation, strategic partnerships, team building, product development, discounted services, customer connections, domain specific mentorship and up to 24 months of residency in class-A office and hardware development lab space.
