Airside Appoints Amena Ali as CEO

Airside Mobile, Inc., a leader in digital identity and the creator of the highly-acclaimed Mobile Passport App, announced that Amena Ali has been named CEO and elected to the Board of Directors, effective immediately. Ms. Ali has an exceptional track record of building and accelerating growth in high-performance technology businesses. Former CEO and co-founder Hans Miller will continue to support the company’s expansion as Chief Strategy Officer.

Mr. Miller said, “Amena provides the strong, experienced leadership Airside needs to capitalize on this unique moment in the world of digital identity. Her vision, ability to inspire the team, and commitment to excellence are a perfect match for Airside’s existing opportunities and future ambitions.”

Propelled by years of success with the Mobile Passport App for seamless, touchless travel through U.S. customs and passport control, Airside has been expanding its digital identity network. The demand for this solution accelerated with COVID-19 as society is rapidly dependent on digital identity technology to enable travel, work, and entertainment.

In the summer of 2020, Airside closed a $13M Series B round investment, led by Bain Capital Ventures, which has been an investor in Airside since its seed round. Last month, Airside launched the Airside Digital Identity App to easily and safely share verified IDs from a mobile device. Now, Airside ushers in Amena Ali as the new CEO.

“Airside’s technology and track record speak for themselves, and we’ve continued to be impressed with the company’s traction since we seeded the company in 2017. With the increased demand for digital identity solutions, we believe the company is poised to take advantage of prevailing tailwinds across a number of industries,” said Enrique Salem, partner at Bain Capital Ventures and board member of Airside. Blazar Ventures and Grotech Ventures also participated in the latest round.

The recently launched Airside App connects individuals and organizations needing to get back to business and perform personal life responsibilities by using biometric identity verification and sharing of driver’s licenses, passports, and lab test results. The app is built with the same principles of keeping control of personal information in the hands of the individual, meaning that Airside is uniquely positioned to build the future of digital identity with integrity.
