Leading Fraud Experts from Legiti to Join Commerce Protection Provider Signifyd as It Launches Brazil-based R&D Hub

The move doubles Signifyd’s Brazilian team of engineers, data scientists and customer success leaders and provides a new level of fraud protection for merchants globally

Leading commerce protection provider Signifyd announced that it is deepening its commitment to the Brazilian market by adding key fraud-prevention experts from Legiti to its team and doubling the size of its workforce in the country while launching a research and development hub based in São Paulo.

The move brings to Signifyd’s growing Latin American presence a top-tier team of engineers, data scientists and customer success executives with extensive experience in detecting and preventing the unique fraud threats in Brazil.

Signifyd announced today that it is deepening its commitment to the Brazilian market by adding key fraud-prevention experts from Legiti to its team and doubling the size of its workforce in the country while launching an R&D hub based in São Paulo.

“Brazil is among the fastest-growing and most dynamic ecommerce markets in the world,” Signifyd CEO Raj Ramanand said in announcing the expansion. “The opportunity to combine Signifyd’s proven expertise with the regional experience, industry knowledge and demonstrated success of our new team members puts us in the best position to ensure our customers’ success both in the region and globally.”

The addition of key experts from Legiti continues Signifyd’s rapid growth in Brazil. Last year alone, Signifyd grew its customer count in the country by 27% and increased the value of the transactions it reviewed in Brazil by nearly 10 times.

Among those planning to join Signifyd in the coming weeks are Legiti founders Pedro Sanzovo and Pearson Henri, who launched the company in 2019. Sanzovo will serve as Signifyd senior director for Latin American customer success. Henri joins Signifyd as senior director for global implementations.

Legiti is well-known for supercharging the growth of online retailers in Brazil. It has a history of supporting rapidly scaling merchants who were able to offload fraud concerns and alleviate the costs of illegitimate orders as they built their bigger businesses. Legiti team members joining Signifyd will have an opportunity to operate in a larger enterprise working in a global market.

“Over the years we’ve accumulated incredible intelligence about fraud in Brazil. We are now able to use that know-how to not only fight fraud and unlock revenue for a broader customer base in Brazil, but we can also apply what we’ve learned in Brazil to the larger market around the world,” Sanzovo said.

Signifyd’s newest R&D hub will focus on innovation for the Brazilian market but will support all Signifyd customers globally. While Brazil and LATAM face certain fraud challenges that are different from other parts of the world, fraud is an international pursuit by the criminal rings that commit the crime.

The tactics and strategies unleashed on the Brazilian market by fraudsters have found and will continue to find their way to the rest of the world. Signifyd’s Brazilian hub will have the intelligence and solutions on hand to shut those tactics down wherever they surface.
