MakerSights Appoints Tom Miltonberger Vice President of Engineering as Adoption by Major Fashion Brands Skyrockets

Proven, Visionary Engineering Leader to Drive Evolution of MakerSights Technology, Enabling Fashion and Retail Product Teams to Make More Customer-Informed Product Decisions

MakerSights announced that Tom Miltonberger has joined the fast-growing company as vice president of engineering. With experience in SaaS, mobile apps and advanced analytics as well as a long history of innovative and executive management in Silicon Valley companies, Miltonberger will lead establishing, enhancing and communicating MakerSights engineering vision and strategy. He will ensure strong alignment throughout the company as it continues to build a world class engineering team and market leading product. MakerSights is experiencing rapid growth as many of the world’s most well known brands in fashion and retail have adopted its easy-to-use solution to dramatically improve how they make decisions to develop products and bring them to market.

MakerSights pairs modern consumer engagement software and artificial intelligence to help brands make smarter, more informed decisions throughout the product development lifecycle. The company engages consumers at scale through mobile-first surveys and experiences, collecting data on their product preferences. This feedback then flows through the company’s machine learned algorithms and predictive models, outputting actionable recommendations around which products and trends to invest behind, and in what quantities. Brands typically see a 2-4% gross margin lift by de-risking new inventory buys, minimizing markdowns and doubling down on best-sellers based on learnings from MakerSights.

“It’s not just a better mousetrap, but a completely new way of approaching retail product development,” said Miltonberger. “Retail is moving to be more customer centric so the product development process must also incorporate the voice of the customer, but in a faster and more scientific way than has been possible in the past.”

Prior to joining MakerSights, Miltonberger was the founder and CEO of Guardian Analytics a leading provider of analytics-based fraud prevention solutions for online banking. He has also been in product and engineering leadership roles at companies such as Advanced Decision Systems, Decisive Technology, Quova, Xora and Granular.

The future of retail is bright, but it will be very different than what it has been. It’s exciting to be in the middle of that transformation—helping our industry partners create the future—and we’re excited for Tom to help us lead the way.”
