ThreatX Identified as a Sample Vendor in the 2023 Gartner Hype Cycle for Application Security and Gartner Hype Cycle for APIs

The company was named across multiple categories this year, including API Threat Protection and Cloud Web Application and API Protection (WAAP)

ThreatX, the leading API and application protection platform, today announced the company has been recognized three times as a Sample Vendor across the Gartner Hype Cycle for Application Security 2023 report and the Gartner Hype Cycle for APIs 2023 report, as well as the Gartner Hype Cycle for Workload and Network Security, 2023 report. ThreatX was listed within the Cloud WAAP and API Threat Protection categories across each report, showcasing the company’s commitment to providing organizations with robust application, API, and cloud WAAP security tools to increase the effectiveness of their layered defense, and mitigate quickly emerging threats.

The 2023 Gartner Hype Cycle for Application Security explains how “application security is experiencing a period of intense transformation and growth. Organizations are producing their own applications and are using faster and more agile methodologies to accomplish this. In doing so, they rely on developers to secure code, rather than security practitioners,” all the while “new application architectures, such as cloud-native architectures, are challenging the established approaches to addressing enterprise security. All this is rendering existing security controls less effective. As if these challenges were not enough, we are experiencing an increase in application- and workload-level real world attacks.”

ThreatX is the only solution that protects both APIs and applications at the edge and at runtime with powerful risk-based, real-time blocking. ThreatX is unique in its ability to not just identify threats to APIs and applications but to block them, in real time. ThreatX also blocks in a more targeted way with risk-based blocking that only takes effect when an attacker’s behavior reaches a certain threshold. Additionally, ThreatX Runtime API and Application Protection (RAAP) extends protection to running APIs and applications – giving organizations a 360-degree ability to detect, track, and block threats.

“ThreatX continues to deliver on our promise to ensure customer APIs and applications remain safe with risk-based, real-time protection,” said Gene Fay, CEO of ThreatX. “We’re extremely proud to be recognized as a part of three Hype Cycle reports this year, in both the API Threat Protection and Cloud WAAP categories. We feel these reports from Gartner provide clients with an opportunity to learn more about emerging technologies within the application security, API, and network security space.”
