Mobile Engagement Leader Solidifies Its Commitment to Security and Compliance
Leanplum, the leader in mobile engagement, announced it has attained ISO 27001 certification, the internationally recognized standard for information security. Compliance with these standards affirms Leanplum’s commitment to protecting customer data, and the continual improvement of security programs.
In 2018, the number of major data breaches in the US alone reached 1,244 and the number of records exposed increased 126% from 2017, topping 4.46 million by the end of the year. Each breach not only creates liability but threatens the customer trust necessary for effective marketing programs.

As one of the only dedicated mobile engagement solutions with an externally vetted and certified information security management system (ISMS), Leanplum ensures security across all areas of the company, from data centers to office operations. With a certified ISMS in place, Leanplum and its customers are safeguarded against the risks of modern business, including data breaches and hostile actors.
“Leanplum tracks more than 650 billion actions for 412 million people every month, allowing our customers to effectively market and personalize at scale,” said Momchil Kyurkchiev, Leanplum CEO and Co-Founder. “Safely managing customer data is of utmost importance. ISO 27001 certification recognizes Leanplum’s commitment to protect all intellectual property that crosses our servers.”

ISO 27001 certification was issued to Leanplum following an in-depth security audit performed by a licensed third-party organization. Cybersecurity firm A-LIGN granted Leanplum ISO certification after the security audit concluded with zero non-conformities.
The company’s commitment to security is an ongoing effort — further demonstrated by its progress toward SOC II Type 2 certification. SOC II Type 2 certification is a rigorous six-month evaluation of the company’s security systems, including the confidentiality and privacy of all personally identifiable information stored by Leanplum.
