New C-Level Appointments and EMEA Presence Position Alation to Capture Enterprise Demand for Data Catalogs
Alation Inc., the data catalog company, bolstered its executive leadership team with the appointments of Steve Kennedy as chief revenue officer (CRO) and Bob Block as chief customer success officer (CCSO). As CRO, Kennedy will have direct worldwide responsibility for revenue-generating teams, helping to scale sales and mature the partner ecosystem. As CCSO, Block will oversee the customer success organization, ensuring customers have the services and resources they need to thrive.
In addition, Alation is expanding globally with the launch of a new London office, cementing its presence in EMEA, which already includes customers like Allegro, Daimler, HelloFresh, Munich Re, Roche, and Scout24. The London team is focused on growing Alation’s sales and customer success presence in the region.

Kennedy has a wealth of experience leading and advising companies. He has served as CRO for seven different companies, including three public and four private, leading three private companies to exits of a combined $1 billion. He has a proven track record for growing global sales teams and creating value for shareholders. Before Alation, Kennedy served as senior vice president of field operations for Recommind and has held sales leadership roles at Centrify, Zantaz, Wind River Systems, Sonicblue, and Quantum.

Block is an expert at guiding successful customer success organizations through growth, from strategy and thought leadership to support and account management. Before joining Alation, he served as CCSO at Jive Software and was a customer success leader at Limelight Networks, SuccessFactors, IBM, and PwC.
