Acquia Unveils New Compliance, Security Capabilities for Acquia Cloud

Provides Broadest Set of Compliance & Security Services Available for Enterprise Drupal Deployments

Acquia announced new capabilities for Acquia Cloud, extending the company’s strengths in security innovation and compliance for digital experience platforms. Additions include new tools to manage risk and updated compliance for a pair of key US federal standards, providing the security and compliance that companies require. These updates expand upon the broadest set of compliance and security services available anywhere on a single cloud platform for Drupal deployments.

Acquia Cloud provides a secure, resilient and broadly supported cloud platform. The cloud-native platform enables customers to build and manage Drupal-based digital experiences, freeing staff to innovate on every channel, engage customers, and grow their brands.

As global brands expand the breadth of digital offerings, they need to ensure that customer data is secure at every touchpoint. These new capabilities give enterprises the ability to provide protection without taxing the resources of security and operations teams. New security capabilities include upgraded single sign-on (SSO) integrations, greater support for SIEM log forwarding, and upgraded controls for access and governance. Acquia customers can also increase their levels of assurance with Acquia’s adherence to new facets of the Federal Risk Authorization and Management Program (FedRAMP) and Federal Education Records Privacy Act (FERPA) compliance standards.

Acquia Cloud enhancements include the following:

  • SSO: An upgraded SSO service seamlessly unifies management of internal and external user authentication, protecting sensitive information and offering improved governance across IT managed systems.
  • Log Forwarding and SIEM integration: Customers can easily configure Acquia Cloud to share logs securely with their Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) systems, thereby providing more visibility to improve incident detection and response. Acquia Cloud supports forwarding logs to popular SIEMs including Splunk and SumoLogic.
  • Access and Governance: Acquia Cloud Shield, a private, isolated cloud for sites that require heightened levels of secure access, now offers optional VPC peering so companies may connect their AWS-hosted VPCs. Additionally, customers may use a self-service UI to manage access for greater administrative flexibility.
  • FIPS 140-2: Acquia offers support for the Federal Information Processing Standard (FIPS) 140-2, a U.S. government standard that defines cryptographic module security requirements and is critical for federal customers.
