Dremio Appoints Robin Matlock to the Board of Directors; Expands Leadership Team with Anita Pandey as Chief Marketing Officer

Dremio, the innovation leader in data lake transformation, today announced the appointment of Robin Matlock to the Board of Directors and Anita Pandey as Chief Marketing Officer.

Dremio makes cloud data warehouses obsolete, bringing data warehouse functionality to cloud data lakes through direct queries for high performing dashboards and analytics. Gone is the requirement to copy data into data warehouses first – a costly, complex, risky and inflexible process.

Dremio is demonstrating exponential growth as a result of today’s rapidly evolving business conditions with enterprises requiring an efficient, cost-effective approach to speed their digital transformations. To keep pace with the doubling of revenues and customers over the past year, Dremio plans to double global headcount to almost 400 in 2021. The Dremio customer roster now includes brands such as UBS, NCR, and Henkel. To better serve its customers, Dremio has forged partnerships with Microsoft, Amazon, Tableau, and PowerBI.

In January, Dremio achieved a company milestone, achieving a valuation of $1 billion, with $135 million in Series-D funding.

Matlock is an experienced director and operator with more than 30 years of experience in marketing, sales and business development in the enterprise software and services market. She most recently served as Chief Marketing Officer of VMware. Throughout her 11+ years with the company, Matlock played a pivotal role in the transformation of the company from software to services, and from a single product to a comprehensive enterprise portfolio in cloud, networking, security and mobility. In addition to Dremio, she is an Independent Director on the boards of Iron Mountain (NASDAQ: IRM), Cohesity, and People.ai.

“We are absolutely delighted to welcome Robin to the Dremio Board,” said Billy Bosworth, CEO of Dremio. “She has exceptional go-to-market experience scaling technology companies that will be instrumental as we navigate the dynamic opportunity in the data lake market.”

“I am thrilled to join the board of Dremio, this dynamic, and fast-growing company. Billy and his world-class leadership team are radically changing both the accessibility and economics of extracting meaningful insights from complex corporate data sets. I am pleased to bring my 30+ years of marketing and go-to-market experience, to help them accelerate their journey,” said Matlock.

Pandey brings more than 20 years of technology leadership experience to Dremio, most recently as Chief Marketing Officer, of the Cloud Security Business Unit at Cisco where she led global marketing, inside sales and go-to-market strategy. Earlier in her career, she spent a decade at Cisco in various marketing and business development roles. She also served as Vice President Marketing, Cloud Migration at Velostrata, which was acquired by Google in 2018.

“I am thrilled to join a company that brings data-driven decisions within reach of companies of all sizes while also prioritizing security, privacy and governance. By removing the requirement that data be copied from data lakes into data warehouses before it is analyzed, Dremio dramatically reduces the cost, complexity and vulnerabilities associated with data copies,” Pandey said.

“Anita is a proven innovative and creative marketing leader with the diversified experience that is exactly what Dremio needs right now. I’m so pleased that she’s on board as we create a whole new category in data management,” Bosworth said.
