Hiverlab Launches Webcasting Mobile App, RealityCast

Hiverlab, a media technology company based in Singapore with global partnerships focusing on immersive technology, has launched its new augmented reality (AR) webcasting mobile app for Android and iPhone. RealityCast offers native Android support for live streaming platforms such as Facebook Live and YouTube. It is also compatible with Zoom, Google Hangouts, Skype, and other webcasting platforms via screen share. The app is targeted at event organizers, presenters, and studios looking to leverage the latest technology to deliver next-generation audience experiences (either pre-recorded or live streamed).

RealityCast allows users to incorporate real-time special effects via their smartphone and broadcast the feed to mass audiences through online video. Users can easily overlay AR visuals and animations onto the webcast feed, including videos and 3D animations, through their smartphone camera. Hiverlab’s strategic partners include Deloitte, OCBC Bank, Accenture, and DB Schenker. RealityCast is particularly relevant to the manufacturing and engineering sectors, allowing for detailed scrutiny of complex models, machinery, and systems.

Online Presentations Through Mobile Apps

Ender Jiang, Founder of Hiverlab, said: “Most organizations are looking at alternative ways to maintain engagement with their staff, vendors, and clients. Virtual events have become popular and mainstream with virtual conferences, career fairs, and webinars all vying for attention in a crowded market. Presenters can no longer just be a floating head in front of a webcam. A good presentation requires a lot more to influence decision-makers – everything from a presenter’s body language to interactive media elements.”

“With RealityCast, we are aiming to revolutionize how we conduct online presentations, from static media files that can be imported to float next to the presenter in real-time, to dynamic 3D graphics and models. All that is required is a smartphone app that anyone can use with a few clicks, there’s no longer a need for expensive equipment or computer software. As the world goes digital and remote, key technologies like 5G will also support more widespread adoption of AR and virtual presentations from smartphones,” he added.

A User-friendly Platform

Hiverlab’s Central Platform allows users to easily convert their media files into AR visuals, making it easy for people without professional skills or software to create dynamic and engaging presentations. AR visuals have to be created by the user independently, but can be uploaded to Hiverlab’s Central Platform to be made available in their presentations. Before going live, users can adjust the distance of AR items from the presenter’s body.
