Salesforce Launches Government Cloud Plus, Achieves FedRAMP Provisional Authority to Operate

New certifications provide government agencies with stronger security and compliance controls

Salesforce, the global leader in CRM, today announced Government Cloud Plus, a dedicated instance of Salesforce’s industry-leading multi-tenant cloud infrastructure specifically isolated for U.S. federal, state, and local government customers, U.S. government contractors, and federally funded research and development centers. Government Cloud Plus has achieved a FedRAMP Provisional Authority to Operate (P-ATO) at the High Security Impact Level, giving customers a compliant and secure environment to deploy Salesforce’s industry-leading Customer 360 CRM platform and industry solutions.

Government Cloud Plus runs on AWS GovCloud (US), enabling enhanced security and compliance controls that allow customers to use Salesforce for the most sensitive, unclassified data. In addition, Government Cloud Plus customers will benefit from the continuous monitoring services provided by the FedRAMP Joint Authorization Board (JAB) to detect changes to the security posture of the system in order to make better risk-based decisions.

Many government agencies today rely on outdated systems with limited ability to upgrade and adapt to the needs of modern government. The result is costly infrastructure, dated processes, complicated workflows, an overburdened workforce and poor service delivery for citizens. In addition, as governments deal with diverse and rapidly changing national and global events, they need to maintain continuity of operations, adapt to a remote workforce and deliver new services in times of need. To do this, government agencies of all types and sizes need access to a complete technology platform in order to deliver needed services, scale to unprecedented demands and connect to citizens on their channel of choice.
