Leading LatAm Market Analyst Bernardo Romero to Lead Americas Market Intelligence’s European Expansion

Americas Market Intelligence (AMI) is pleased to announce that Bernardo Romero—a highly experienced international market and trade analyst—will join the firm as its DACH Market Director. In this role, Bernardo will oversee AMI’s sales expansion into three key European markets: GermanyAustria, and Switzerland. “We’re very pleased to have Bernardo join us to spearhead our work in servicing customers in these markets,” says John Price, Managing Director of AMI. “His diverse background spans not only a number of our key practice areas but also both private and public sectors, which should allow us to significantly diversify our client base.”

Prior to joining AMI, Romero straddled the worlds of business and government. Most recently, he was a diplomatic officer for Colombia in both Switzerlandand Germany, working to improve trade relationships and increase investment. He assumed his diplomatic role with the Colombian government after several years of market consulting work. Romero’s work in this area was diverse, ranging from providing CRM and project management services to Colombian firms to conducting rigorous market analysis for both IATA—a trade association of the world’s largest airlines—and for Fraser Milner Casgrain, a Canadian law firm that merged with Dentons to become one of the largest law firms in the world.

As DACH Market Director for AMI, Romero will focus on developing new business within the German, Austrian and Swiss markets. “In particular, European suppliers have interesting opportunities in Latin America,” he observes. “With costs rising for US products and a fear of cheap Chinese imports, rising foreign direct investment outlooks and pro-business administrations in LatAm, DACH suppliers in areas like engineering services, capital equipment, and project finance could grow their revenues nicely in LatAm,” says Romero.

“Bernardo’s experience in developing investment opportunities for Latin American governments and private industry consulting will allow him to help our European clients recognize new opportunities and maximize existing ventures in the region through AMI’s blend of market insights and strategic analysis,” explains Price.
