Thunder Experience Cloud, the leader in people-based ad serving, announced the closing of a $6 million funding round with investments from a consortium of open ad tech companies, as well as the expansion of its executive leadership team.
Thunder’s platform helps advertisers create, personalize, optimize and measure ad experiences across channels. Investors have taken note of the company’s promise to enable people-based advertising.
“WI Harper always locks in on rising stars and unique investment opportunities,” said Jimmy Lu, Managing Director of the WI Harper Group, a leading cross-border venture capital firm. “Thunder has been an innovator at every stage of the company, consistently anticipating and evolving to meet the ongoing demands of the industry. We strongly believe in the company’s potential as the first people-based ad server delivering brand messages across an increasing number of online channels, at a time when previous standards of measurement and targeting are under fire.”
In addition, Thunder has appointed two executives: Marco Matos as Head of Product and Jack Hallahan as VP of Strategic Partnerships, as it continues to enhance its platform and grow its partner network.
“It is an exciting time to welcome Matos and Hallahan to the team,” said Victor Wong, CEO of Thunder. “The expertise of both in their respective fields will be invaluable as we use this latest investment to accelerate delivery of Thunder’s Experience Measurement suite to market and execute on our vision to end bad ads.”
Matos has spent over 11 years in product development, overseeing projects launched across Microsoft, Google and Facebook, particularly specializing in brand and cross channel measurement and understanding user consumption. He will oversee Thunder’s engineering team and overall product roadmap.
Hallahan brings expertise in strategy, branding, social, programmatic and rich media to his new role as VP Strategic Partnerships. Previously, he was vice president of partnerships at Celtra, a late stage venture-backed Creative Management Platform. He will be responsible for overseeing partnerships while heading up revenue responsibilities for Thunder’s sales and account management teams.
