Instasize Promotes Luca Meschiari to CTO

With Experience from Italy, Australia and the US, Meschiari Plans to Continue Instasize’s Fast Development of App Features with a Small, Focused Team

Instasize, a visual toolkit for social media content creators, announces that Luca Meschiari will serve as the company’s first Chief Technology Officer. Meschiari was instrumental in the beginning stages of Instasize and was essential in building the first version of the app in 2014 as lead iOS developer and as the company’s first full-time employee. Since then, Meschiari has spearheaded all of the technological advancements within the app such as filters, borders and other editing functionalities.

Meschiari leads a team of 20 engineers who work remotely around the world—Meschiari in Miami and others in Utah, Arizona, California, Illinois, Romania and Poland.

“Our development team is moving fast to provide features to help social content creators take control of their content and capitalize on their brand, independent of the social platform,” said Meschiari. “Our small, focused team has high standards of delivery and will lead the way with innovative features to help social content creators develop followings on self-managed platforms where they make the rules.”

Meschiari received his bachelor’s in computer engineering from the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia in Modena, Italy in 2011 and his Master of Science in mobile and ubiquitous computing from Trinity College in Dublin, Ireland. For the last seven years, Meschiari has worked as a software engineer for companies such as Moroku and Achvr and as a freelance engineer. Instasize’s umbrella company, Munkee Apps, hired Meschiari four years ago, and he was instrumental in building Instasize and other apps owned by Munkee.

“In 2018, Instasize achieved 12 million monthly users and 500,000 paid subscribers – subscribers that depend on steady app advancements each month,” said Hector Lopez, CEO of Instasize. “Luca was our first outside employee, and he’s been instrumental in our product development since the beginning. We are glad to promote him to lead our entire development team and set the technology strategy for the future.”

In 2018, the app was downloaded 50 million times in the Google Play store and ranks in the Top 40 Photo/Video Apps in the Apple Store.
