Hundreds of Content Creators to Live Stream from TwitchCon 2018 using LiveU Technology

LiveU Solo Powers Mobile Live Streaming in and Around the San Jose Mcenery Convention Center

TwitchCon gathers Twitch creators and communities together to watch, learn, and play together. With the rise of the IRL (In Real Life) movement and mobile live streaming, this year’s TwitchCon promises to bring even more interactive content than ever before. LiveU, the live IP video disruptor that powers mobile live streaming, expects more than 100 content creators to go live from TwitchCon using the company’s LiveU Solo plug-and-play portable encoder. LiveU Solo offers these creators reliable connectivity in bandwidth-challenged situations. The company will be demonstrating the technology in the Education Zone #2A at TwitchCon.

“More than 50,000 attendees are expected to descend upon San Jose for TwitchCon, which means reliable bandwidth will be nearly impossible for streamers,” said Claudia Barbiero, LiveU VP of Marketing, Americas. “The LiveU Solo has become the live streaming solution of choice for IRL Live Streamers and eSports/eGamers, delivering high-quality, reliable streams from anywhere – even the highly congested convention center.”

LiveU technology revolutionized the broadcast industry more than 10 years ago. Today the technology is disrupting the online streaming space by making it easy and affordable to create high-quality produced live streams to Twitch. Twitch, an early adopter of live video and one of the first LiveU Solo integration partners, has embraced mobile live streaming wholeheartedly. The LiveU Solo is the main component of the IRL Live Streaming backpack that many Twitch partners use to go live today.

“Twitch was considered a video game platform, but we found that many gamers wanted to go beyond their home and take their viewers with them. We developed a solution that allowed our partners to stream full-time and become entertainers living out their lives and traveling to crazy places,” said Justin “TheGunrun” Ignacio, Twitch Broadcast Success Engineer. “Viewers are able to experience ziplining, bungee jumping, exotic locales, and different cultures because these content creators are taking them on a journey live. Our collaboration with LiveU allows content creators to go anywhere their imagination leads them.”
