Founder Quincy van der Ree developed the platform after encountering cost, reliability and maintenance issues across four customization solutions
After five years of running an engraving business and trying four separate product customization solutions, Quincy van der Ree will launch Sigmira on Sept. 14, a cloud-based platform for WooCommerce merchants selling personalized products.
Sigmira will allow shoppers to personalize products directly in an e-commerce store and preview their designs before ordering. Merchants will be able to configure customization options and pricing and receive completed customer designs for production.
Van der Ree has a background in IT and runs Mister Mojo, an engraving business in Amersfoort, the Netherlands. His experience with existing customization software eventually led to the development of Sigmira, which began in late 2024.

According to Van der Ree, each of the four systems presented a different challenge. Two older plugins were no longer actively maintained, leaving him to deal with bugs and compatibility issues as the surrounding software changed. Another system produced design exports that, in his experience, were not consistently reliable enough for his workflow. With another solution, costs increased with the value of the orders being processed.
“The problem wasn’t a missing feature,” Van der Ree said. “Each system solved something, but the work kept showing up somewhere else, whether in software costs, checking exports, maintenance or manual editing. I wanted customization software to remove work, not move it.”
Those experiences also influenced how Van der Ree approached usability. Sigmira was developed for both the merchant setting up personalized products and the customer creating them.

“Customization software has to work for both sides,” Van der Ree said. “The merchant has to be able to configure and manage it, while the customer has to understand how to use it. If either side needs constant workarounds, the software is adding complexity instead of removing it.”
Sigmira will run as a cloud-based service alongside WooCommerce. Merchants will continue to manage products and orders in WooCommerce, while Sigmira will handle the customization process.
The platform will also support workflow automation after an order is placed, including the ability to send completed design files automatically to services such as Dropbox.
Sigmira will use subscription pricing and will not take a percentage of a merchant’s order value. Plans will start at $24 per month when billed annually.
WooCommerce will be the first e-commerce platform supported by Sigmira. A Shopify integration is in development.
