Heap Announces Executive Leadership Team Changes To Further Accelerate Position as Digital Product Analytics Pioneer
Heap, the pioneer in digital product analytics used by more than 6,000 companies, today announced a number of changes to its executive leadership team, further cementing the company’s position as the industry’s leading provider of digital product analytics solutions. Effective April 2, Ken Fine assumes the position of Chief Executive Officer as CEO and Co-founder Matin Movassate transitions into a full-time role as Chairman of the Board. Heap has expanded its product and engineering leadership bench as well, adding Rachel Obstler as VP of Product and David Fullerton as VP of Engineering.
“Heap is coming off a record year of growth executing against its product vision and has never been in a better position to accelerate into our next stage. A recognized leader who’s made a career out of driving company growth and pushing the envelope toward what’s next, Ken is the ideal person to take this company forward into its next decade. I couldn’t have found a more trusted advisor to lead Heap,” said Movassate.

An established B2B SaaS executive and advisor, Fine joined Heap in 2019 as President and COO to help the company scale efficiently on the heels of a $55M Series C round. Together he and Movassate have worked to implement Heap’s mission of moving teams toward quicker, better knowledge and more focused, impactful decisions in the digital product-led future. Under their leadership, Heap outperformed on ARR expectations over the last 12 months and released significant enhancements to its platform:
- The Heap Data Engine offers an entirely new approach to organizing and scaling a company’s user data
- Integrations with partners like Marketo and Salesforce give teams the power to automate campaigns targeting the specific needs of different customer groups
- Multiple data science-led initiatives that proactively surface key insights to critical stakeholders
With the appointments of Obstler and Fullerton, Heap is doubling-down on its investments in product and engineering as it prepares for its next stage of growth. The two bring a combined 30+ years of leading-edge tech experience at established companies, including Dynatrace, PagerDuty and Stack Overflow, and will provide crucial leadership as Heap expands its already industry-leading technological capabilities. As the world rewires to digital, platforms like Heap’s — which helps teams gather, understand, and take meaningful action on their data — will play a critical role, particularly as legacy tools are becoming increasingly unable to keep pace with the rate of change in customer behavior, and as product teams, growth marketers, and digital experience owners are bearing growing responsibility for creating revenue-generating digital products and superlative user experiences.

“As the digitization of existing and net new customer journeys has accelerated, it’s crucial for today’s product leaders to have a full understanding of user behavior to ensure business success. The modern product team needs a partner like Heap that is uniquely positioned to provide those insights necessary to power the next generation of product-led growth,” said Obstler.
Fullerton added: “Every digital-led organization has a wealth of data, but not necessarily the tools to turn it into action. Building systems that handle billions of events every day and help customers extract insights from all that data is a challenging problem, and its solution will help businesses across industries. I’m excited to continue developing our fantastic team of smart, motivated and eager engineers who bring creativity and innovation to the solution.”
