Do you want your game to be as popular as LoL Pro? Or do you want to gain as many downloaders as Fortnite Download? Why not?

What Is Video Game Marketing?

Any business, be it a business that sells, a business that offers services, a business done in an office or a physical store, or a business done online; all of them require one thing: Marketing. So to speak, Video Game Marketing since this is a business service for entertainment is done online, then it means it is Marketing online. Now, let’s talk about 4 Video Game Marketing strategies as discussed below.

1. Twitch Streaming

Twitch is seen as the social media platform for gamers. Back in 2014, Amazon purchased Twitch.tv and it now has over 15 million subscribers. With this cool app, gamers can show a picture-and-picture video of their game with the use of a webcam.

When you get a lot of viewers and subscribers, then you would be tagged as a Twitch partner. The benefit includes a share in advertisement profit and subscribers.  With Twitch, you can either advertise or sponsor a stream.

2. Gamer Sponsorship

Many celebrities are being hired to endorse some products and services. So, it is normal to see a famous Hollywood star wearing Gucci shoes or carrying a Prada bag on a Red carpet gathering.

Bloggers and influencers normally give tutorials and product recommendations on their social media channels. The same goes for video games. Even on video games, influencers gain a lot of followers.

You are lucky if you know one blogger or influencer but if you don’t know one, then you can join groups and pages and participate in their games and discussions to get the attention of one of them. Just be cool and be active.

3. Product Placement

A good strategy is when you partner with certain companies for some freebies or discounts. For example, you can assign a target to your players.

Just recently, Japan released Splatoon 2:Splashfest. Players were given a choice to pick between Mc Nuggets or French Fries from McDonalđs. If they pick McNuggets then they get red paint, but if they pick French Fries, then they get the purple paint.

4. Mobile Gaming Ads

Whatever the device is, many companies spend money on mobile game ads. It is a common thought that mobile ads are a distraction to games. However, studies show that game players pay more attention to ads compared to others.

At present, there exist some ad marketing techniques about mobile games: the standard way of placing ads that are shown on websites; and the interactive ad that allows people to click and participate as a free trial.

To conclude, Video Games Marketing might be a little tedious. Just put into mind that any business requires hard work, patience, and perseverance. Don’t you agree?
