Leading Data Compliance and Privacy Expert Ben Hayes Joins Executive Team as It Prepares for Next Phase of Growth
Zeta Global, the data-driven marketing technology company that operates the largest independent Marketing Cloud and Data Cloud, is proud to announce Ben Hayes as its first Chief Privacy Officer. A recognized expert in data privacy, compliance and security, and a pioneer in setting enterprise-level privacy guidelines for the transition to cloud-based systems, Hayes is the latest addition to Zeta’s senior management team as its growth accelerates and it becomes more deeply embedded into the operations of its Fortune 1000 client roster.
“Our mission at Zeta is to re-invent how data is used to help our clients have more personal, perceptive and productive communications with customers. This requires us to bring leading edge thinking not only about AI and user experience but also about consumer privacy and corporate data security,” said David A. Steinberg, Zeta’s Co-Founder, Chairman & CEO. “Ben brings unparalleled experience and expertise to help our team of experts craft better solutions and help our clients to better navigate the still nascent data-driven marketing ecosystem.”
Mr. Hayes has been working in privacy roles for almost 20 years. Most recently, he spent over four years as Nielsen’s first Chief Privacy Officer, overseeing the company’s global privacy program and building upon its best practices. Prior to Nielsen, Mr. Hayes served as the Americas privacy lead for Accenture as it transitioned clients from proprietary data centers to the cloud, and as an attorney for K&L Gates where he advised clients across a broad range of industries. Mr. Hayes has been chair of the Certifications Board of the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) since 2017.
“It’s really exciting to be joining Zeta at this important stage in its evolution. I’ve been impressed at how thoughtful about data governance the company has been as it transitions from Big Data to people-based data, and by the commitment Zeta’s leadership has demonstrated to a privacy-forward approach. I believe the Company is poised to become a leader in this next wave of data-driven marketing in part because of its approach to data management,” said Mr. Hayes. “My experience working with massive consumer data sets and setting data policies for the world’s largest enterprises has equipped me to help Zeta elevate its data-driven solutions with data management and privacy as part of the embedded value. Although privacy laws will continue to evolve in the US and around the world, I think Zeta is very well positioned to navigate these changes and succeed as a people-level data company.”
Mr. Hayes will be based in Zeta’s New York City headquarters and manage a global team of privacy professionals.
