SiteSeer Technologies Partners with PlaceIQ for Deeper Location Intelligence

SiteSeer Pro users now have access to location data from PlaceIQ to inform customer foot traffic, business health, and the places consumers visit

SiteSeer Technologies, creator of SiteSeer Professional site selection software and Void Analysis Pro, has partnered with PlaceIQ, a leading data and technology provider. SiteSeer Professional’s new suite of features powered by PlaceIQ data will offer retailers, chain businesses, shopping center brokers and developers, and economic development professionals insights into where a business’s visitors come from and where else they shop, to evaluate, compare and rank potential sites, shopping centers or competitors.

PlaceIQ’s movement data is obtained via smartphones through a vetted collection of apps. Data is collected in the form of latitude-longitude coordinate pairs emitted by the operating system, after a mobile phone user has opted in to share data for purposes of advertising, measurement and analytics use cases. In aggregate, this allows PlaceIQ to observe a location’s traffic, business health and shifting trends in the consumer journey.

Tom Kessler, chief information officer of SiteSeer Technologies, says that users seeking the ability to better understand their potential customers, create better trade areas and find the best sites will appreciate SiteSeer’s new functionality for mapping, comparing and benchmarking/ranking businesses by their visitor traffic.

“SiteSeer has long provided the ability for users to retrieve and analyze visitor data for ad hoc analysis,” says Kessler. “Our goal with our partnership with PlaceIQ was to make viewing and analyzing visitor data as easy as highlighting a business on a map and choosing from dozens of powerful map layers, charts, dashboards and reports. Most importantly, we wanted our users to feel that visitor data was a seamless extension of the tools, models and data they were already using in SiteSeer today. PlaceIQ has helped us make that vision possible. We are very excited about this partnership and feel that together, we are bringing something to the retail research market that does not exist today.”

“It’s always exciting for us to enable a new partner that can truly extend the benefit of high-scale location data to a marketplace that is so ready for this kind of advancement,” says Brian Bradtke, VP of Partner Development at PlaceIQ.

PlaceIQ is a pioneer in its industry and was the first company to create location intelligence. The company is trusted by companies like Experian and used by platforms offered by Oracle Data Cloud, Nielsen, Adobe, Verizon Media, Google Marketing Platform, and others. Location data provides a window into the movements of millions of unique users, which can answer questions about their intent as consumers.

Kessler says that SiteSeer users can look forward to additional enhancements from SiteSeer in 2022. “This partnership is one we are so excited about and will bring the SiteSeer toolset to the next level,” he says. “Our solution is less expensive than others of its kind and features are fully integrated, making it so easy for companies to do things like fit trade areas to store visitors, run forecasts based on those trade areas, and tie visitors into other layers. We cannot wait for users to boost their own analytics ability with the power of SiteSeer and PlaceIQ data.”
