Using Cloud Applications to Help Support Agile Business Processes During a Pandemic

Todd Riesterer, Chief People Officer at LogicMonitor shared a few thoughts on the key technologies that helps boost LogicMonitor’s agile business operations while diving into a few tools that can help drive seamless processes across departments in 2021:

______

Hi Todd! Welcome here! How have you seen businesses’ needs for Tech change in 2020? What are some of the ways in which you feel tech innovators can enhance their offerings to suit today’s changing needs for teams in 2021 and beyond.

2020 certainly redefined what it means to be agile, holistic, and an effective communicator within companies affected by the pandemic. After closing our offices, LogicMonitor’s leadership had to find a way to create cohesion between new and existing teammates, while also ramping up communication and transparency.

As a cloud-based infrastructure monitoring and observability provider, LogicMonitor would be remiss if we didn’t utilize cloud applications to support our operations. Luckily, LogicMonitor was a cloud-native company even before the COVID-19 pandemic, making it easier for us to shift to a remote workforce. Applications like Zoom and Slack have glued our company culture together by enabling us to host virtual programs such as company huddles and Q&As with executives, happy hours, talent shows, health and wellness programs, and diversity and inclusion events.

Marketing Technology News: How to Start Creating the Change Advertising Needs

While we wait for the pandemic to come to a close, tech innovators should focus on creating cloud-based tools that professionals can access remotely to positively impact everyone in their workforces, across teams. Companies are in dire need of applications that can replicate the feeling of working in-office while being virtual, as well as technology to help companies support the health and well-being of their people.

As business leaders continue to adapt and respond to the business needs of the new normal, what are some of the top thoughts you’d share?

I would encourage leaders to be:

  1. Agile: Be prepared to break all of your paradigms and adjust to the needs of the market, your business, as well as employees at a moment’s notice.
  2. Firmly root yourself in a ‘learning mode’ all the time.
  3. Be ceacons of stability: Leaders are constantly put on center stage. When tragic and unforeseen events happen outside of the organization it can adversely affect your team, employees look to company leadership for rationality, thoughtfulness, empathy, and a sense of direction.
  4. Over-communicate: In times of confusion and chaos, people need to hear a drum-beat of consistent, supporting messages over and over again. My rule of thumb is when I almost feel nauseated due to repeating the same messages, it’s a sign that the masses are maybe starting to hear and internalize the message.

Some technologies you feel will drive agility in the year?

Collaboration and productivity tools, such as Zoom, Slack, and Google Workspace, will continue to thrive in 2021. Since many companies around the world are still working remotely, leaders should use these platforms to not only communicate with their colleagues, but to also develop employee engagement programs that foster inclusivity, creativity and innovation.

When offices can safely open again, business heads will be looking for tools that will support a seamless transition back into the office.
