Content Policy to Automatically Enforce WhatsApp Communication Rules

Jatheon Launches AI-Powered Compliance Dashboard

Jatheon introduced Content Policy, an archive feature that detects and removes WhatsApp messages violating an organization’s communication rules.

Content Policy is designed for compliance, legal, IT, and records and information governance teams in regulated organizations. When a WhatsApp message matches criteria an organization defines, Jatheon Cloud removes it directly on WhatsApp for everyone in the conversation and keeps a clear record that the action took place.

The capability lets organizations enforce their own communication standards without manually monitoring conversations. Teams can define rules that address prohibited language, confidential keywords, or specific phone or account numbers that should not appear in WhatsApp chats. When a message meets those criteria, the platform acts on it and preserves a record for later reference.

Content Policy also gives teams oversight of every action. Removed messages are marked with a distinct status, which sets them apart from messages that users delete or edit themselves, so they remain easy to find through search. An audit log records each deletion event, and organizations can choose to send an email notification to the message sender when a policy removes their message.

For regulated organizations, communication oversight has become a board-level priority as employees increasingly rely on chat and messaging platforms. According to Gartner, “By 2029, 30% of enterprises will shift to a proactive employee digital communications governance approach to improve corporate policy outcomes and advance business insights, up from less than 10% in 2025.” Content Policy supports that shift by helping teams enforce standards consistently across WhatsApp while maintaining a defensible record of what was removed and why.

“Compliance teams need to act on communication risks as they happen, not weeks later during a review,” said Marko Dinic, Jatheon CEO. “Content Policy lets organizations enforce their own rules on WhatsApp automatically, while keeping the clear, searchable record that regulated environments depend on.”
Content Policy is part of Jatheon Cloud, an AWS-based archiving platform that captures and preserves communications across email, social, website, chat, text, voice, and files for retention, compliance, and ediscovery.
