Cities and States ranked for year-over-year growth of women entrepreneurs

Incfile, a leader in online business formation and startup services, today released new data showing the growth of women entrepreneurs across the United States. The data analyzes over 330,000 entrepreneurs and measures the growth between January 1, 2020, and December 31, 2021. Women entrepreneurs grew by 48% year-over-year, outpacing their male counterparts by 22%. While women aged 25-34 still account for the largest group of female entrepreneurs, we also see strong growth amongst women aged 18-24 (up 73%) and women over 65 (up 76%).

“There’s no question we’ve seen strong growth in entrepreneurship with the onset of the pandemic and The Great Resignation”

“There’s no question we’ve seen strong growth in entrepreneurship with the onset of the pandemic and The Great Resignation,” said Dustin Ray, Chief Growth Officer & Co-CEO, Incfile. “It’s great to see such significant and continued growth amongst women entrepreneurs in particular — they’re getting busy, carving out their niche, some starting new businesses, others transforming side hustles. And you know what we hear most often? ‘I wish I’d done it sooner’. It’s a thrill for us to witness entrepreneurs take their idea and turn it into a successful business.”

I decided to take the leap into entrepreneurship through my own healing journey because I realized that I could help other women just like me transform their health and their life,” said Alyssa Abrahamson, Nutritional Therapist & Holistic Wellness Coach, Wellness HQ. “It was the best decision I have ever made. Since I formed my business, I have been able to focus my efforts on helping others. I have more personal time, and can focus on leading a healthy, vibrant life.”
