MarTech Interview with Amanda McGuckin Hager, Chief Marketing Officer @ TrueDialog

Amanda McGuckin Hager, Chief Marketing Officer at TrueDialog chats the growing impact of SMS marketing in today’s multi-channel marketing game in this MarTech Series catch-up:

________

Hi Amanda, what about the state of B2B martech and marketing needs on overhaul today?

There are so many great tools to help marketers and sales teams pull data lists, automate email outreach, and perform efficient dialing. These advances are great for the company! However, for the prospect being marketed to, they are an annoyance.

Many prospects simply disregard the emails because their email inbox is flooded, and they are not answering dials from unknown numbers. Voicemail boxes are flooded. With all these tools, it’s getting easier to operate and yet harder and harder to connect with prospects and customers.

Can you speak about the current adoption and use of SMS in multi-channel marketing and how can B2B tech marketers rely on this channel to boost marketing output?

We are seeing more and more sales and marketing leaders adopt SMS as a communication channel in their tech stacks. A few reasons: sales leaders are finding that their reps are texting the prospects and it’s not being recorded in the CRMs, making it challenging to forecast revenue. Additionally, we’re seeing Marketing leaders using it for personalized invitations to conferences and webinars, for sharing newly released market research and other high-value content, as well customer advisory boards. In a world where it is hard to cut through the noise, a quick note with a personal spin can make a big impact.

A few SMS marketing tips you’d share with marketing peers through this chat?

Outside of ensuring your privacy policy and opt-in practices are compliant and your 10-digit long codes are registered, give creative thought to sending timely, personal, and relevant campaign messages. SMS is an intimate channel and should be used with care. Consider using TrueDelivery(r) to ensure the text messages you craft are not inadvertently triggering spam filters.

Marketing Technology News: MarTech Interview with Eric Stine, Chief Operating Officer @ Sitecore

Take us through some of the martech you’ve always relied on (and why) to drive growth goals?

Hubspot. It never fails. It’s so easy for small companies, growth companies, and large companies to do really everything they need to do – to power all the programs, processes, reporting, and more. After all these years, it’s still a joy to work in.

A few thoughts on how you’ve been using AI powered martech to initiate marketing goals faster?

Yes! Internally, we’ve been using AI for video transcriptions, transcript analysis, executive summaries, ICP development, emerging market trends, and competitive market strongholds. It’s truly a game changer for so many research projects – from manual hunting and pecking to nearly instant read-outs.

Additionally, we developed TrueDelivery® using AI to help our customers check the text messages they craft for delivery optimization, reducing the likelihood of triggering the major carriers’ spam filters. Why pay for texts sent but not received?

Five last tips you’d leave everyone in martech and marketing with before we wrap up?

  1. Get to know the SMS marketing channel as well as you know the email channel.
  2. Look for SMS marketing solutions that are reliable, easy to use, and have direct connections with the major telecom carriers.
  3. Look for an SMS solution partner who will help you through the ten-digil long code (10DLC) registration process, not one that pushes it off on you to handle on your own.
  4. Set up your privacy policy and opt-in language to support SMS communications sooner rather than later. Build your list now. Text later.
  5. Give creative thought to using SMS to build, grow, and sustain relationships w
